Firas Arnaout

Firas Arnaout is an orthopaedic surgeon at the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire. His main surgical interests are in trauma and lower limb arthroplasty. He attained Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons as well as the European Board. He has a Master’s degree from the University of Warwick, his thesis involved a study of periprosthetic fractures management.

He is a faculty member of several educational courses in the UK and has been nominated to the Royal College of Surgeons’ Innovation in Surgical Education Award in 2019.

His educational work led him to edit and author the award-winning book ‘Concise Orthopaedic Notes’

Shwan F. Henari

Shwan F. Henari FRCS (T+O), MCh, MRCS, MB/BCh/BAO is an orthopaedic surgeon in Oxford University Hospitals. He has qualified in Ireland at University College Dublin and went on to achieve a postgraduate MCh at the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland.  


He has always had the drive to learn, but also to pass on his learning to colleagues and juniors, often awarded tutors recognition awards.     Hence after completing the FRCS, he became a founder of the FRCS Mentor group and runs the FRCS preparation group with the other mentors

Mohamed A. Imam

Mohamed Imam MD, DSportMed, PhD, FRCS is a consultant trauma and upper limb surgeon in the renowned Rowley Bristow Orthopaedic Centre in Chertsey. He has undertaken multiple fellowships in Oxford, Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Wrightington, Chertsey and Der Balgarist centre in Zurich with Prof Gerber. He has received multiple international awards from the AAOS, EFORT, ISAKOS, AANA and others which enabled him to undertake travelling fellowships to Mayo Clinic, Stanford, Steadman clinics in the USA as well as centres in Munich, Heidelberg and Madrid. He has published more than 60 peer-reviewed publications, authored 12 book chapters and edited two books.

He serves as a clinical and educational supervisor and is an examiner in the General Medical Council and two medical schools. He teaches and chairs in top FRCS courses in the UK and Overseas as well as trauma and upper limb courses.

Jehangir Mahaluxmivala

Mr Jehangir Mahaluxmivala is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in Princess Alexandra hospital in Harlow and has been awarded Trainer of the Year from the Royal London Hospital Rotation. 

He has a special interest in patient education and is a surgeon designer for animations for hip and knee replacement surgery. He is the co-founder and co-director of the Royal College of Surgeons of England FRCS (Orth) Course.

Nicola A Evans (Walsh)

Nicola Evans is an orthopaedic surgeon and the Undergraduate lead for T&O Lancaster University. 


She studied Medicine at Imperial and qualified in 1997. Trained in the U.K. and Australia. Obtained FRCS in 2018. Teach Medical students and have been faculty for Lancaster FRCS revision course and Wrightington FRCS course.

Kashif Memon

He is passionate about medical education and he is a faculty member in many FRCS courses in the UK. 

He is an active participant in multiple teaching platforms.

He is passionate about medical education and he is an active participant in many FRCS courses and online platforms. 

David Hughes

David Hughes BSc (Hons), MBBS (Lond), MRCS (Ed), FRCS (Orth) trained in London at Imperial College School of Medicine. He did his orthopaedic registrar posts in Derby, Bristol & Warwick. He has completed a fellowship in paediatric orthopaedics at UHCW and he is currently an upper limb fellow at Stoke Mandeville. He has a keen interest in teaching having been involved in FRCS mentors from the beginning, he has been a faculty member for the Wrightington FRCS course and he is currently the Convenor for the Warwick FRCS course.

Abdullah Hanoun

Abdullah Hanoun, MD, MSc, FEBOT, FRCS, an orthopaedic surgeon working in Salford Royal Hospital as a senior clinical fellow.

He is an educational supervisor, and serves as faculty in Wrightington FRCS courses and others. He is an online modulator for Edinburgh surgical science MSc at Edinburg University. 

Rishi Dhir

Rishi Dhir is an orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in teaching. He believes that teaching is a unique art and each student, with their own individual needs, strengths and weaknesses, presents a unique challenge. The greatest excitement he gets is taking on the challenge of new students every day, adapting his teaching style to suit their needs.

He has extensive experience in teaching and he runs his own course.

He is also interested in music, singing and a lot of other interests.

Husam Elbana

Mr Husam Elbana MBBCh, MSc (Tr. & Orth), MCh Tr. & Orth (Dundee, UK), MRCS, FICS (USA), FEBOT, Dip SICOT, FRCS (T&O), MAcadMEd has developed special interest in trauma surgery. After completing his training in Egypt, he has travelled and worked in different healthcare systems including Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Bahrain and finally the UK. This overseas experience created special interest on developing and improving the medical care to provide the best patients’ experience possible. He has been passionate about teaching and education. He has been a faculty member in many courses and symposiums.

Fouad Chaudhry

Fouad Chaudhry FRCS (Tr and Orth) is a consultant lower limb surgeon at the Dudley Group NHS Foundation trust. 

He is a specialist lower limb arthroplasty and trauma surgeon. He finished his orthopaedic training in the Midlands.  He holds MSc in Health Sciences (Trauma & Orthopaedics) from Warwick University. He undertook postgraduate trauma and complex arthroplasty training. 

He is actively involved in teaching and he is an honorary clinical lecturer at the University of Birmingham. He has been a faculty member in multiple FRCS preparation courses. 

He is a keen sportsperson and plays cricket, golf and squash.
